What Is A Smart School?
London Academy Casablanca is a school with an innovative approach based on blended learning, advanced IT, sports and critical thinking.
Today, nobody needs to be in a classroom to learn. Watching a video is all you need to get access to information. Modern education takes this into account. It is not about taking computers out of schools but rather teaching students how to be productive with technology.
This means that the emphasis is put on developing students’ competencies. They are taught how to communicate, how to be problem solvers, how to be creative, how to be better citizens and how to develop strong personalities.
Students are also aware of how competitive they need to be to face our economies’ challenges.
How Are Students Impacted By Smart Schools?
Samir Benmakhlouf sees that students are extremely happy to come to school, as the well being of the students is very much what’s happening in London Academy Casablanca. Students are plainly happier and more fulfilled over time. Health also plays a great role. Students’ sports activities contribute to making them feel more sociable and less inhibited.
Also an important plus of smart schools is how e-learning allows to adapt to how fast a student wants to learn. Everyone fits in a selfpaced learning environment.
What About The Downsides Of Technology Overuse?
In the future, we need people who control robots. Samir Benmakhlouf argues that it is essential that children understand their environment to be able to be in control of their life, become technology producers and programmers instead of remaining technology consumers and jobless in an automated world.
